Text: Topics in Contemporary Mathematics, by Bello, Kaul, and Britton
Materials covered: Selected topics from consumer mathematics, set theory, counting methods, probability, statistics, systems of linear equations, graphs and solutions of linear and quadratic equations using graphical methods. Modeling and problem solving techniques will be illustrated to give students an understanding of the nature and applications of mathematics.
